Apple promotes upcoming Shinjuku store with vivid neon signage

A black background with a glowing neon pink Apple logo, followed by two Chinese characters in neon blue and green, captures the essence of Shinjuku store's iconic neon signage. Below the symbols, white text announces "4.7 10am".

After revealing the location of the new Apple store in Tokyo earlier this week, the company is now promoting the opening of the Shinjuku store with a neon-themed video, signage and promotional imagery on its Japanese website.

In an interview with Japanese site Nikkei, the company’s head of retail Angela Ahrendts explained the company’s dedication to expanding their presence in Japan over the coming months and years. This promise will partly be fulfilled when the company welcomes customers to their Shinjuku store on April 7. Ahrendts said that this kicks off a “major retail expansion” in the country.

Apple has now revealed its unique signage to promote the store’s grand opening. A temporary wall outside the store features a lighted display including Apple’s logo in neon and a QR code below leads passerby to a video promoting the store. Here’s the video below:

This expansion has been long awaited in Japan, especially since the closure of Apple Shibuya that’s currently under renovation. Hopping on board this enthusiasm, the company has also started to advertise the opening of two additional store openings in Japan coming later this year. Two unique stylized logos with the text ‘scheduled for 2018’ below feature on the Japanese retail site. Take a look at them below.
