Apple pushes slow-mo camera with Slofie video series

Apple is rolling out its latest advertising campaign, centered around ‘Slofies’.

The company has wrapped up its Holidays marketing campaigns by launching a new series focusing on the slow-mo video camera on the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Over the weekend, the company premiered a series of new videos on its official YouTube channel, promoting the new Slofie feature on the iPhone 11 onwards, showcasing different use cases for the new technology.

Over four videos, Apple demonstrates how the Slofie feature can be used in different cases, including taking a group selfie, taking a selfie in the rain, and having fun in your bedroom with your iPhone 11 camera and a hairdryer, offering hilarious cartoon-like results.

Apple says that you can “turn any selfie into an epic dance video with slo-mo on iPhone 11’s front-facing camera,” and coined the term Slofie to bring together selfie and slow-motion.

The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are Apple’s first phones to support slow-motion video recording via the front-facing camera.

This is available at an impressive 120 frames per second, offering consumers more choice and creativity than ever before.

Slofie isn’t the official name for Apple’s new slow-motion front-facing camera technology, but it’s designed as a marketing tool to help Apple promote the feature to the general public.

Tim Cook and Co used the phrase during the iPhone 11 keynote speech, but there’s no mention of the term in iOS – at least not yet!
