Apple has heightened anticipation of their forthcoming watches by uploading a series of special videos. The ‘Guided Tour’ videos have been designed to show consumers exactly what to expect from the Apple Watch. Four clips have been posted in total in advance of the official launch date of the devices, April 24th.
The clips are entitled “Digital Touch”, “Messages”, “Faces” and “Welcome”. Each clip runs for less than two minutes apart from the “Welcome” overview, which lasts for almost five. The videos tell you how to use a number of interactions in order to control content and access apps. The clips explain why some things that work on iPhones won’t be possible on the watch display, emphasizing the need for the “digital crown” dial. More videos are on the way, with topics including “Phone Calls”, “Maps”, “Music” and “Siri”.
The videos are being used not only to explain how the devices will work but to advertise them too. Apple has called the Watch its “most personal device yet”. Apple is to start taking pre-orders on Friday 10th April. It’s thought that consumers interesting in buying a Watch won’t be able to simply walk into a store without booking an appointment first.
