Apple Releases First Betas for OS X 10.11.3 and iOS 9.2.1

Developers can now download the first betas for two upcoming Apple software updates: OS X 10.11.3 and iOS 9.2.1. Both updates are currently available from the Apple Developer Center.

Developers will doubtless be excited to sample the betas, as it is not known for definite what improvements the public release versions will bring. However, as both will be .1 updates, we shouldn’t expect a raft of major new features, but instead minor security and performance enhancements and bug fixes.

One particular change that looks likely to occur with the final release of iOS 9.2.1 is a bug fix for some issues that Apple has acknowledged in a support document published today. Apparently, some apps can fail to fully install when prompted on iOS 9.2, and Apple has pledged to rectify this specific problem in the near future.
