Apple Releases iTunes 12.4 with Minor Redesign of Interface

iTunes 12.4, the latest version of Apple’s media software for Mac and Windows, has just become available to download. As predicted earlier this month, the updated software includes a number of small changes to the design interface, including a reintroduced Sidebar and simpler menus.

The release notes for iTunes 12.4 also detail Back and Forward buttons that can be used to navigate between different sections including Library, Apple Music and iTunes Store. Meanwhile, a new Media Picker allows easy switching between music, movies and other media items.

Mac users can update to iTunes 12.4 through the Software Update option in the Mac App Store, while Windows users can, to receive a prompt to update, simply click to load the iTunes software. Further notable changes for iTunes could be announced by Apple at its WWDC conference next month.
