A fresh stage in the pre-release development of OS X El Capitan, the next major version of the operating system for Mac computers, has seen Apple issue an OS X El Capitan Recovery Update that tweaks the repair tool OS X Recovery.
This update, which all users of pre-release OS X 10.11 El Capitan are advised to install from the Mac App Store, is likely to instill confidence in Mac users who have grown to highly value OS X Recovery, which has been standard on Mac computers running OS X Lion or later. The feature enables a choice of Mac recovery functions, such as reinstallation of OS X or restoration from a Time Machine backup.
As reported by MacRumors, the update is something of an addition to the two new in-development versions of El Capitan released on Wednesday, the seventh developers’ beta and the fifth public beta. OS X El Capitan will get its full release in the fall, as a free download in the Mac App Store.
