Apple Releases Second Beta of iOS 10 with Many New Features

Today, Apple gave developers the opportunity to download the second beta of iOS 10. The release includes various new features and tweaks that bring iOS 10 even closer to its early promise.

For example, the dedicated App Store for the Messages app has now gone live, with users able to download sticker packs with titles including ‘Smileys’, ‘Classic Mac’, ‘Hands’ and ‘Hearts’. Also, the Health app has, under the Medical ID tab, the previously reported signup screen for organ donation.

According to the official release notes, Apple Music can now be signed into on the wireless speaker system Sonos, while music videos within the Music app can be enjoyed fullscreen. Also, iPads supporting Split View multitasking can use this feature with the App Store app – rectifying a longstanding bizarre omission.

For developers using iOS devices capable of running iOS 10, the new beta is available on the Software Update screen if the first beta or beta configuration profile is installed. It can alternatively be directly downloaded through the Apple Developer Center. iOS 10 will be officially released to the public this fall.
