Apple Releases “Starter Guides” for iPad Use in Classrooms

Apple is helping educators to more easily incorporate iPad use into classrooms with the release of several new “starter guides” detailing how to get up and running with Apple productivity apps.

AppleInsider reports that the new series’ six guidebooks, which include a more general iPad Starter Guide as well as separate books for Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie and GarageBand, has been advertised in an email to iTunes U users. All of the titles are free to download from the iBooks Store.

Apple explained: “The iPad guide helps educators get the most out of iPad for their daily work and lessons. The Apple apps guides include step-by-step instructions to build a sample project and master basic and intermediate skills in each app.”

The iPad has been increasingly pushed as an educational tool, Apple having accompanied the release of iOS 9.3 earlier this year with a new Classroom app for deploying and managing iPads in classrooms.
