Apple releases ‘switch’ site to try and lure competition from Android

Your phone or iPhone?

On Monday, Apple launched aย ‘Switch’ minisite in an attempt to encourage Android users to switch to the iPhone.

The previous focus of this site was the ‘Move to iOS’ย app for Android users preparing to transition to the iPhone but featured less information on the phone itself and focused more on the content of the app that helped to transfer contacts, message history, photos, mail accounts and calendars etc over to their new device.

The new site still features a Move to iOS section but now focuses more on an attempt to lure the Android user to Apple with information about the iPhone’s camera and processor, Apple Pay, the strict Privacy Policy, the Messages app, Apple’s committment to the environment and Apple Support.

A simple design complete with clever animations allow visitors to scroll through the site that ends with an iPhone comparison chart and quick links to each of the different models.

To go along with the site, Apple released a series of 16 second videos via it’s YouTube channel that highlights the ease of switching from an Android to an iPhone, pointing out features such as speed and privacy.

Will you be switching?
