Apple Remains Top of US PC Customer Satisfaction Survey

US-based Mac owners are clearly more than happy with their devices, as Apple has, for the thirteenth consecutive year, landed premier position in ACSI’s PC customer satisfaction survey.

In the chart shared today by the American Customer Satisfaction Index, Apple kept its score from 2015 – 84 out of 100. The survey saw 3,500 randomly selected customers emailed in June and interviewed about their experiences with recently-bought computers and tablets.

Samsung was in second place with 83 out of 100 – a five-point improvement over its year-ago score of 78. Other impressive steps forward came from Amazon, which rose from 78 to 80 despite making only tablets, and HP, which gained by four points to land a score of 77.

In a press release, ASCI Chairman and founder Claes Fornell noted that, despite leading the PC industry in customer satisfaction, Apple and Samsung are following different strategies with their tablets, with the Samsung slates taking “their own space as devices for entertainment and browsing – not laptop replacements.”

Apple, on the other hand, “is targeting business customers on the go with laptop-like features for its iPad”. Multitasking features like Slide Over and Split View, introduced with iOS 9, and productivity-oriented accessories like the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil are good examples.
