Apple Reveals Devices Compatible with ‘Apple Intelligence’ At this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple introduced “Apple Intelligence”, a suite of artificial intelligence (AI) tools for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. While many devices can update to iOS 18 and macOS 15, only select models support these new features.

Apple Intelligence encompasses a variety of AI-based functionalities. Users can rephrase text, summarize messages or emails, and generate images or emojis.

Siri also sees enhancements, now capable of understanding on-screen context and offering more device control.

The features leverage both on-device and cloud processing.

Notably, Apple has integrated ChatGPT into Siri to enhance its capabilities. However, due to the need for on-device data processing, only the latest Apple devices can fully utilize Apple Intelligence.

Compatible devices include:

  • iPhone with A17 Pro chip or later
  • iPad with M1 chip or later
  • Apple Silicon Macs with M1 or later

For iPhones, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max currently support Apple Intelligence. Future iPhone 16 models are also expected to be compatible.

Apple has released the first betas of iOS 18 and macOS 15 to developers, with public betas coming next month and official releases scheduled for this fall.
