Apple has just updated its entire iMac lineup, which now includes a Retina 4K display 21.5-inch iMac and a Retina 5K display on each 27-inch iMac. The Cupertino company has also announced the wireless accessories Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2.
“From the first iMac to today, the spirit of iMac has never wavered – deliver the ultimate desktop experience with the latest technologies, gorgeous displays and cutting-edge designs,” declared Philip Schiller, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. “With our gorgeous new Retina displays, more powerful processors and graphics and all-new Magic accessories, the new iMac continues to redefine the ultimate desktop experience.”
The new 27-inch iMacs each have sixth generation Intel Core processors and the most recent AMD high performance graphics, which should together help keep the Retina display both beautiful and well-powered. Similarly, the new 21.5-inch iMac comes with a fifth generation Intel Core processor and beefed up Intel Iris Pro Graphics.
Meanwhile, the all-new Magic Keyboard has a full size keyboard despite a sleek design, and the Magic Mouse 2 includes an optimized foot design to make gliding smoother. The most exciting feature of the Magic Trackpad 2 is its enabling of Force Touch pressure sensitive technology, already present on MacBooks, for desktop use for the first time.
