Apple Senior VP Eddy Cue Lands a Job at Ferrari

News today suggests that Apple Vice President Eddy Cue has been officially added to the Board of Directors for the popular automobile manufacturer Ferrari.  Cue was allegedly scouted out by Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo, who stated that “Eddy Cue’s huge experience in the dynamic, innovative world of the Internet will be of great assistance to [the company].”

Sources state that Montezemolo may have discovered Eddy Cue through Tim Cook, whom he met at a Stanford University event earlier this year. Montezemolo went on to say that Apple and Ferrari “are connected by the same passion, the same love for the product, maniacal attention to technology, but also to design.”

Eddy Cue has owned a Ferrari for over five years and is a self-proclaimed car buff. The Apple VP gave the following statement regarding the new position, “I am pleased and proud to become a member of the board. I have personally dreamed of owning a Ferrari since I was 8 years old and have been lucky to be an owner for the past 5 years. I continue to be awed by the world-class design and engineering that only Ferrari can do.”

Hopefully this means that Apple will be able to include some of its more innovative products into Ferrari’s manufacturing process. It is entirely possible that we could see some interesting partnerships between the two companies in the future.
