Apple set to introduce price increase for upcoming iPhone 14 Pro

Apple is reportedly set to increase the price of its iPhone Pro range.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, consumers will face higher prices for the iPhone 14 Pro than the iPhone 13 Pro as Apple passes on higher production costs. However, the company hopes new features will make the price increase more palatable.

Kuo didn’t specify how expensive the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max could be but estimated the average selling price of the iPhone 14 range would be up around 15%. Bear in mind, however, that Apple is removing the iPhone mini from the range, which was previously the cheapest high-end iPhone for sale.

Right now, the iPhone 13 Pro costs $999 in the United States, whilst the iPhone 13 Pro Max starts at $1,099. Should Apple choose to add 10% to the price of each device, they could cost $1,099 and $1,199, respectively. However, this is pure speculation, and it could be that the price increase is closer to $50 per device instead.

Several new features are expected on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, including a pill-shaped cutout instead of the notch, a new A16 chip, a 48-megapixel rear camera which will support 8K video content, and an always-on display, similar to the Apple Watch. We’ll unlikely see any significant design changes with this year’s iPhones.
