The upcoming ‘Wonderlust’ event is slated to be a showcase primarily for Apple’s new iPhone lineup. Apple is expected to reveal four new models: the 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max. Notable advancements are expected to include an updated 5G chip from Qualcomm, a shift from a Lightning port to a USB-C port, and the appearance of the ‘Dynamic Island’ feature on all models.
The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models are set to offer unique enhancements not available in the standard models, including a more compact design, titanium frames, and additional camera features. These premium models are anticipated to come equipped with Apple’s first 3-nanometer A17 chip. Another noteworthy update is the replacement of the traditional mute switch with a customizable ‘Action’ button, similar to that found on the Apple Watch Ultra.
In terms of optics, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is projected to include a periscope zoom lens, allowing for optical zoom capabilities of up to 5x or 6x, a significant jump from the current 3x. Given these upgrades, and the cost associated with the new 3-nanometer chip, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models may carry starting price tags of $1,099 and $1,199, respectively. The pricing for the standard iPhone 15 models is anticipated to remain unchanged.
Besides the iPhones, the Apple Watch Series 9 and a new iteration of the Apple Watch Ultra are also expected to be introduced during the event.
