In an apparent reflection of the popularity of Apple products in East Asia, the Cupertino company has set up dedicated YouTube channels for Japan and South Korea.
At the time of writing, there are 59 videos posted up for the Japanese, and 49 for their Korean neighbors. Videos on both channels advertise various products from Apple. Many of these videos seem especially tailored to appeal to East Asian customers, both current and potential – through the use of, for example, titles, descriptions and voiceovers in the local language, and scenes of local people using Apple devices in everyday situations.
The Japanese channel has been in place for three days, while the South Korean channel was opened about 12 hours ago. You can reach the Japanese channel here and its South Korean counterpart here – but, first, for an idea of what to expect, why not have a look at this vibrant Korean video promoting the iPad?
