Last year, Apple enhanced its online shopping portal by introducing the “Shop with a Specialist over Video” feature, designed to streamline the purchasing process for products like the iPhone. This innovative service has now been integrated into the Apple Store app on iOS, starting with its latest update.
The updated Apple Store app, version 5.24, which rolled out to iOS users on Thursday, incorporates one-way video calls that connect customers directly with Apple Specialists.
This feature aims to provide personalized guidance during the shopping process, complete with video support and transcripts for accessibility.
Initially available exclusively to U.S. customers, this service provides a unique “live shopping experience” where users can explore the latest iPhone models, discover new features, and receive information on trade-ins, carrier deals, and various financing options.
If a live specialist is not available or if customers need assistance outside of normal hours, support remains accessible via phone or chat 24/7.
Karen Rasmussen, Apple’s head of Retail Online, commented on the launch: “We’re constantly innovating to deliver an even more personalized experience for our customers, meeting them where they are to deliver the best of Apple.
