Apple Supplier Qorvo’s Guiding Hints at High iPhone 7 Orders

The number of orders that Apple has placed for this fall’s iPhones would strongly hint at how popular the company expects the devices to be. A possible sign of high orders has just emerged in guidance from Qorvo, which supplies RF components to the Cupertino company.

In a memo cited by AppleInsider, Wells Fargo analyst Maynard Um has noted that Qorvo is expecting its revenue for the September quarter to be over $100 million greater than Wall Street’s consensus. Qorvo’s guidance is said to suggest 19% sequential growth for the company during the quarter.

While, encouragingly, that is larger than the 15% increase Qorvo benefitted from in the same period two years ago, when the hugely popular iPhone 6 launched, Um has pointed out that Apple’s influence on Qorvo’s revenue forecasts is hard to discern, as demand from Chinese firms could also be playing a part.

However, Um did say that, judging from the guidance, the new iPhones could ship a week ahead of usual – in line with a similar prediction made by trusted tech leaker Evan Blass only last week.
