During yesterday’s keynote at the Worldwide Developer Conference, Apple was quick to show off the biggest features of iOS 11, including Do Not Disturb While Driving and a raft of new features for iPad, like drag and drop and greater Apple Pencil support.
One interesting addition to the smartphone operating system that the Cupertino firm forgot to mention, however, was Business Chat, a new way for iOS users to have directĀ contact with businesses for customer service and sales purposes.
With iOS 11, you’ll no longer have to use Facebook Messenger, Twitter, or, heaven forbid, live chat, to get in touch with a sales or customer service operator.
The new Business Chat feature will allow you to search for businesses using Siri, Spotlight, Safari, or Maps and reach out to their representatives for support.
It’s a move that rivals social networks, who have invested heavily in customer support features in recent years. Twitter’s Dashboard launched as a way for customers to get all of their customer support through the platform, while Facebook has baked an array of customer support features into its Pages and Business platforms.
