Apple has told customers to ‘shop early’ ahead of the upcoming holiday season.

Consumers typically begin stocking up for Christmas from November, and this year, Apple has encouraged customers to start shopping early amidst global supply chain issues, which could mean stock shortages in the run-up to Christmas.

The company has added a new banner to its website to tell customers to “Shop early for the best selection of holiday favorites,” suggesting it expects to see some product categories like the iPhone and Mac run low before the holidays.

Apple also confirmed an extended holiday return period, allowing customers who buy products from November 1 the chance to return them through January, which is more generous than some previous returns policies. Speaking of the news, the firm said: “Items purchased at the Apple Online Store that are received between November 1, 2021 and December 25, 2021, may be returned through January 8, 2022. Please note that all other terms and conditions provided in the Apple Online Store Sales and Refunds Policy are still applicable with respect to such items purchased. All purchases made after December 25, 2021 are subject to the Standard Return Policy.”

The firm had previously warned that all of its products are facing supply constraints this year, and in its most recent earnings call with investors, confirmed that supply constraints could cost the company $6 billion in revenue.
