Apple to bring iCloud Photos and Apple Music to Windows

Apple will bring dedicated Apple Music, Apple TV, and iCloud Photos apps to Windows in 2023.

Microsoft announced the news in a press release, confirming that the Cupertino company was planning to launch standalone apps for several of its popular services. The news comes after an announcement that Apple had launched a new Apple Music app for Xbox, meaning users with an Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One can stream their favourite songs whilst they play music on the games console.

Right now, Windows users must head to the Apple TV website if they want to stream content from Apple TV+, and although Apple Music is accessible through an outdated iTunes app, it’s missing some modern functionality.

Alongside dedicated Apple TV and Apple Music apps, Apple will launch iCloud Photos integration so users with an iPhone can access all of their photos in the Photos app on Windows 11. This is not a standalone app, but instead a collaboration between Microsoft and Apple to make the functionality possible.

Once users download the iCloud for Windows app from the Microsoft Store, they’ll be able to sync their iCloud Photos on the Photos app inside of Windows 11.
