Apple will reportedly release iPadOS 16 in the last week on October.
In August, Apple confirmed that iPadOS and macOS would move to a new October release schedule to better prepare iOS and ensure developers had time to make changes between betas and public releases of software.
It follows rumors that Apple will announce new iPads and MacBooks in the coming weeks, and naturally wants to hold off releasing the new software until it’s got some new hardware to sit alongside it.
It’s now believed that iPadOS 16.1 will be released in the week commencing October 24th.
That’s according to Bloomberg, which has a proven track record when it comes to Apple news and rumors.
A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that Apple would not hold a special event this October to announce new iPads and MacBooks, and will instead issue updates via press releases. It’s believed that Apple will announce a new low-cost iPad and an iPad Pro, alongside a new Mac mini and an M2-powered MacBook Pro.
