Apple has reportedly sourced 80 million panels from Samsung Display for its upcoming iPhone 14.

According to ETNews, “Samsung Display will supply 80 million panels for all iPhone 14 series models.”

The report goes on to say that mass production and delivery of the panels are expected to begin sometime in Q3 of the year, ahead of an expected September release of the new iPhone.

Apple is rumored to release four new iPhone 14 models this year, replacing the mini iPhone with a new iPhone Max – there’ll be two high-end models, the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, and two regular models, the 14 and the 14 Max.

Estimates suggest 38.17 million of the new panels will be allocated t the entry-level iPhone 14 and the highest-end iPhone 14 Pro Max, suggesting bumper sales of the two product categories.

The iPhone 14 is expected to feature a refreshed design with no ‘notch’ and instead, a pill cut out for the camera and microphone. Apple is also expected to add an always-on Lock Screen, displaying things such as the time, new Lock Screen widgets which form part of iOS 16, and notifications.
