Back in 2019, Apple TV+ ordered a ten-episode season order for a series called Invasion. The series was described as a science-fiction / horror project that would involve a situation where “Earth is visited by an alien species that threatens humanity’s existence. Events unfold in real-time through the eyes of five ordinary people across the globe as they struggle to make sense of the chaos unraveling around them.” The latter sentence is Apple TV+’s official synopsis for the show, whose premiere is set for October 22, 2021. Just recently, Apple has also given us a first-look trailer for Invasion:

As Apple revealed in its announcement, the series is going to have an amazing and experienced crew behind the screen: “The ten-episode science fiction drama series comes from Academy Award-nominated and two-time Emmy Award-nominated producer Simon Kinberg (“X-Men” films, “Deadpool” films, “The Martian”) and David Weil (“Hunters”). The sweeping, character-driven Apple Original series, directed by Emmy Award-nominee Jakob Verbruggen (“The Alienist,” “The Fall”) and produced by Boat Rocker Studios, will make its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes on October 22, 2021, followed by new episodes weekly, every Friday.”

Invasion seems to be a big project for Apple TV+, as evidenced by the A-list crew behind the project itself. Still, the cast that will be appearing on the screen is likewise amazing, led by famed Australian actor Sam Neill (Jurassic Park franchise, Peaky Blinders), who is joined by Shamier Anderson (Bruised, Awake), Golshifteh Farahani (Extraction, Body of Lies), Firas Nassar (Fauda) and Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2, The Outsider).

As for the other crew members, Audrey Chon Amy Kaufman, and Elisa Ellis will serve as executive producers alongside Andrew Baldwin, who is also going to write the show. Katie O’Connell Marsh serves as executive producer for Boat Rocker Studios.

After seeing the trailer and knowing who is going to be on and behind the screens, we can only say that October cannot come soon enough, as we cannot wait for Invasion to finally start airing!
