Just hours after we teased the launch of the new AirPods, Apple has confirmed it will drop the new AirPods Pro on October 30 around the world, starting from $249.

The company announced an ‘exciting addition’ to the AirPods family via YouTube and a press release, far removed from the previous hype and excitement of the original AirPods launch.

The new Pro earphones are the first to feature Active Noise Cancellation and an improved, immersive sound in a stunning new light-weight design, identical to rumors and mockups.

Speaking of the new AirPods, Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said that “with AirPods Pro, [Apple is] taking the magic even further.”

“The new in-ear AirPods Pro sound amazing with Adaptive EQ, fit comfortably with flexible ear tips and have innovative Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode.

“We think customers are going to love this new addition to the AirPods family.”

Unlike the original AirPods, each earbud of the AirPods Pro comes with three different sizes of soft, flexible silicone ear tips that conform to the contours of each individual ear, providing both a comfortable fit and a superior seal.

What’s more, they use an innovative vent system to equalize pressure, minimizing the discomfort common in other in-ear designs, and they’re sweat- and water-resistant, making them perfect for active lifestyles and out in the rain, though not for swimming or the shower.

Thanks to a new Noise Cancellation feature, the AirPods remove background noise and offer a customized, superior noise-canceling experience, whilst Adaptive EQ automatically tunes the low- and mid-frequencies of the music to the shape of the user’s ear, offering the best listening experience ever offered in an Apple-branded earphone.

What’s more, Transparency Mode allows users to listen to music as well as hear the environment around them – great for listening to the traffic or an announcement for the train.

Featuring a revolutionary system-in-package (SiP) design and the Apple H1 chip, the new AirPods Pro have the same great battery life as the original AirPods, offering five hours of listening time.

This drops to four and a half in Active Noise Cancellation mode and three and a half hours of talk time on a single charge.

And with a wireless charging case, AirPods Pro can deliver over 24 hours of listening time or over 18 hours of talk time.

Pre-order the AirPods Pro online now or collect them in retail stores from October 30.
