Apple recently announced some exciting new features for its Podcasts app available to iOS 16.4, iPadOS 16.4, and macOS 13.3 users. Let’s dive into these features and how they will enhance the Podcasts app.
The new Channels menu in the Podcasts app will allow users to find and subscribe to podcast channels all in one place. It will list all the podcasts in a channel in one place so that listeners can quickly and easily discover and follow their favorite creators and brands.
The Up Next queue feature is set to include saved episodes from a listener’s Library and episodes played from shows they do not follow. This means that if a listener starts an episode from a show before following it, the episode will remain in their Up Next queue until they finish listening to it, mark it as played, or remove it. Episodes from followed shows, as well as recently saved episodes, will appear at the top of the queue. The latest episodes from recently followed shows will appear first. Furthermore, episodes that are categorized as “bonus” will also be displayed in Up Next.
Thirdly, Apple Podcasts users will now be able to see the number of unplayed episodes available for them at the top of each show page. This feature will allow them to keep track of their progress and make sure they don’t miss an episode. Additionally, they can also identify “early access” subscriber episodes that are available as part of their Apple Podcasts subscriptions.
Finally, iOS 16.4 includes some enhancements for the Podcasts app in CarPlay. Users can now access the Up Next and Recently Played queues from Listen Now in CarPlay, making it easier for them to manage their listening on the go.
To sum up, these new Podcasts app features are sure to enhance the overall listening experience for iOS 16.4, iPadOS 16.4, and macOS 13.3 users. The Channels menu, Up Next queue, episode management tools, and CarPlay enhancements are all set to improve users’ listening experience.
Stay tuned for the release of these exciting new features!
