Apple Urgently Addressing iPhone 15 Pro Max Production to Meet High Demand

iPhone 15 Pro

In light of the high demand for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple has taken rapid steps to address production challenges, particularly focusing on the tetraprism camera module with up to 5x optical zoom, reports Ming-Chi Kuo.

According to the analyst, this advanced camera system has emerged as a major bottleneck in the supply chain. To mitigate this issue, Apple has heightened the specifications of the tetraprism lens, which is supplied by Largan Precision. Consequently, Largan Precision has expanded its production capabilities for this lens to meet demand effectively.

Kuo revealed that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is experiencing shipping delays of 3-4 weeks for some configurations and up to 6-7 weeks for others. He noted that the device’s demand has already surpassed that of its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, during a comparable time frame.

Alongside the camera-related bottleneck, Kuo indicated that the iPhone 15 Pro Max commenced mass production later than other models in the iPhone 15 series, which has further contributed to its extended shipping delays.

For prospective buyers in the U.S., the iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at a price of $1,199 for the base model with 256GB storage.

Despite the challenges, all models in the iPhone 15 series are available for order and are set to launch on September 22.
