Apple Watch Downloads Appear in App Store

Apps featuring Apple Watch support have started to appear in the App Store. A number of popular iOS apps have re-appeared with built-in Apple Watch apps. These downloads include Evernote and Dark Sky.

The company has already provided information on a number of the third-party apps that will be made available for the Watch. The latest developments are showing us exactly how these downloads will work. The Evernote app, for instance, will allow users to dictate notes into the Apple Watch. These notes will then by synced to Evernote. Weather information in Dark Sky will appear on the wristwear.

Apple Watch apps are bundled into pre-existing iPhone apps. This means that the handset powers the app, with the user interface being extended to the watch, helping users to preserve battery and controlling the level of access developers have to the wristwear. Apps running on the Watch alone are in development, but none are being made available yet.

One of the reasons why third party apps have started to appear could be to enable Apple Store employees to add content to demo watches for customers to look at. Other downloads now available include Target, NY Times and Procreate Pocket.
