Apple has released a new update to watchOS, bringing its electrocardiogram (ECG) to 30 more countries.
watchOS 7.6 expands the territories where Apple’s ECG functionality works, alongside irregular rhythm notifications. The update was announced quietly on Apple’s watchOS Feature Availability page and confirms that countries such as Cyprus, the Norfolk Islands, and Andorra now support the feature.

Previously, Apple had added ECG capabilities on a country-by-country basis, as it had to seek medical approval from local governments and health boards. This is the largest update to the ECG feature since it launched on Apple Watch with the Series 4, and could help to save many more hundreds of lives.
Apple released new versions of all of its major operating systems yesterday, including iOS 14.7, watchOS 7.6, iPadOS 14.7, and tvOS 14.7. The company also issued a security update to Safari on macOS Catalina and Mojave.
