Apple has revealed more information about what potential buyers of the Apple Watch Edition can expect from the company. People interested in the 18 carat gold device are being courted with 24/7 support, private 1-hour appointments and no queues. When a customer wishing to learn more about the device, they will be given access to a dedicated expert, and they will even be able to set up their machine at home via video conferencing instead of waiting in store.
The company has described the Apple Watch Edition as “the ultimate expression of extraordinary craftsmanship…rooted in beauty”. It believes that the majority of Edition customers will be interested in the device for the value offered by a gold watch and the “unique style choices” being made available. The purchasing process will last for up to 60 minutes, with half an hour being spent just trying on the Watch. Customers will usually only be able to try on two watches at once.
Customers will be given access to an exclusive Apple Watch Edition phone line, which will give them two years of 24/7 support. They can upgrade this to three years by choosing AppleCare+. The Watch Edition won’t be stocked at all stores, but customers will be able to use an “Edition Courier-to-Store” program, in which the models will be brought to the store for users to try on and purchase.
