Apple Watch Now Eligible for Recycling via Apple Renew

As noticed by 9to5Mac, Apple has updated its website to indicate that Apple Watch models are now, like various other Apple products, eligible to be responsibly recycled through the Apple Renew program.

Apple Renew was announced at the iPhone SE launch event in March, and enables Apple customers to, through Apple’s website or in one of the company’s retail stores, send old devices free-of-charge to the Cupertino company. Those devices will then be recycled or repurposed.

Unlike the case with iPhones, iPads and Macs, Apple is not offering any gift card or credit in return for any Apple Watch model that it receives through Apple Renew. However, Sims Recycling Solutions, Apple’s recycling partner for Apple Watch devices, says that those devices are, for peace of mind, sent to domestic processing facilities practicing a “zero-landfill policy and proven sustainability”.
