91mobiles has shared new CAD rendering images of the new Apple Watch Pro.
The new high-end model, previously rumored to be a ‘rugged’ version of the watch, is expected to look a little different from the standard Apple Watch. The Pro model will feature an additional physical button on the left side and three holes, which will likely be the Apple Watch’s speakers.
The renders show a more rugged look than the standard Apple Watch Series 7, with the Digital Crown and Side Button now more visible in a new protruded chassis that looks similar to more traditional watches. However, unlike the Apple Watch Series 7, it features a new flat display rather than the curved edges we’ve come to expect.
It’s believed that the new model will feature a larger display than the current Apple Watch, and it could even be “bigger than most wrists” to appeal to the sports market. It had previously been suggested that the model will be between 47mm and 48mm, but Gurman believes it could be more significant and offer space to show additional metrics like workouts and new watch faces.
The new model won’t be cheap: it’s believed to retail for between $900 and $1,000 and will sit alongside a new Apple Watch Series 8 and a refreshed Apple Watch SE.
