Apple’s upcoming Apple Watch Pro will feature a new design but lack some of its rumored features.
According to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will unveil the first major redesign of the Apple Watch in years this September, with a model featuring an all-new titanium casing for better rigidity. The idea is to compete with the likes of Garmin to offer consumers a high-end smartwatch. The new look will feature the “first redesign in years” but won’t have the squared-off look we’ve previously seen.
His latest report suggests that the model will be “a good bit bigger” than the current Apple Watch, and added that it won’t be circular. Instead, it will be “an evolution of the current rectangular shape” and feature a more durable titanium casing that’s designed to withstand extreme sports.
The model is also likely to feature a bigger battery, offering multiple days of performance on a single charge, with a new Low Power Mode designed to remove unnecessary bloat. The model will also feature a body-temperature sensor, but some of the previously rumored features like blood-pressure monitoring and blood-glucose monitoring are reportedly delayed and will arrive “nearer the end of the decade” instead.
