Apple unveiled its first smartwatch back in September 2014, releasing the product the following March.
The device has single-handedly transformed the smartwatch market and since then, iterations have built upon the success of the Apple Watch, introducing features such as sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, and more recently blood oxygen monitoring.
One thing that hasn’t changed a great deal since the original Apple Watch, though, is its design, and so designer Wilson Nicklaus has imagined a new Apple Watch with flat edges, which resembles Apple’s more recent design changes with the iPad Pro and iPhone 12.

The designer shared his vision on social media, revealing a new Apple Watch design that mimics the iPad Pro and iPhone 12. Though the new look pays tribute to previous Apple Watch designs, retaining the squared screen, it’s also in keeping with recent design changes at Apple.
Indeed, since 2018, the company has begun transitioning towards flatter designs with squarer edges rather than traditional rounded edges we’ve seen on iPhones recently.
