The new Apple Watch Ultra offers impressive battery life, and a new report explains how.
According to specifications in a Chinese certification database, the new Apple Watch Ultra features a 76% larger battery than the new 45mm Apple Watch Series 8, a significant upgrade for power users.
MySmartPrice reported online that the ‌new high-end Ultra‌ model sports a 542mAh battery, whereas the Series 8, which was also announced at last week’s Far Out event, has a 308mAh battery.
Other information in the certification database also revealed that the Apple Watch Series 8‌ features the same CPU as the Apple Watch Series 6, and almost the same battery size. The new 41mm Series 8 model has a battery capacity of 282mAh compared with a 284mAh battery on the Series 7, though the difference is unlikely to cause faster battery drain.
Apple is marketing the new Series 8 as offering “all-day battery life” whereas the new Apple Watch Ultra‌ offers up to 36 hours of use on a single charge – and up to 60 hours on Low Power mode.
