Apple is expected to follow its usual naming convention for the next iPhone.
According to a report from the Economic Daily News, the company will release the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max in September, despite some previous concerns the number ‘13’ could discourage some fans from upgrading their device.
Indeed, according to a survey from SellCell, one in five iPhone users said they’d be put off by an iPhone 13 because of triskaidekaphobia. As a result, 38% said they wanted Apple to drop the number and move towards a new naming system, like the 2021 iPhone instead.
It’s worth noting that 2020’s iPhone 12 was one of Apple’s biggest on record, and thus this year’s release is likely to be more understated with fewer new features or changes.
EDN also confirmed that the company was planning to release the new range of iPhones on its usual timeframe, set for release in September. Last year, Apple pushed back the release of the iPhone to October, and some models were held back even further to November due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now that manufacturers are returning to normal, Apple can too.
