We might still be waiting for an official iPhone 12 announcement, but the rumor mill is already heading into overdrive with regards to next year’s flagship smartphone. According to an insider, Apple is planning to significantly decrease the size of the notch on the iPhone 13.

The insider, known as Ice Universe, shared on Twitter that the iPhone 13 will still feature the controversial notch – which some other smartphone brands have been able to cleverly eliminate from their devices – but that it will be smaller than this year’s notch. The leaker also shared some sketches to prove his point, demonstrating that the notch will be less visible.
We first heard that the iPhone 12 would see a smaller notch earlier in the year, but now it appears as though this has been pushed back to 2021, perhaps due to design challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic limiting innovation. The new iPhone 12 Mini, which will sport a 5.4-inch display, could have a smaller notch due to its smaller screen size, but time will tell.
In other news on the iPhone 13, Apple is expected to keep the size the same as the new iPhone 12 models, but introduce 120Hz-capable displays, as well as improved camera sensors, and better 5G connectivity, ahead of the next-generation 5G rollout this year.
