Apple will reportedly introduce its long-awaited High Power Mode next week.
The company has been working on a new software update that allows users to maximize power and performance for intensive tasks, and the new 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 Max Apple Silicon chip is the ideal candidate.
We’ve known for more than a year that Apple has been working on a ‘Pro Mode’ that will allow users to make the most of the hardware on their device, and now it appears as though there are direct references to High Power Mode in the macOS Monterey beta. It seems as though this will be offered on the high-powered MacBook Pro.
Consider High Power Mode the opposite of Low Power Mode. Apple says that using the mode will “optimize performance to better support resource-intensive tasks. This may result in louder fan noise.” It’s unlikely that this mode will be activated in everyday use cases, but it could be offered when rendering large files.
Apple will release macOS Monterey on Monday (October 25) ahead of new MacBook Pro models arriving to consumers on October 26. Are you looking forward to trying out High Power Mode? Let us know and check back soon for more.
