Apple is reportedly working on a new version of its Apple TV box.

9to5Mac uncovered code in the 13.4 beta, which seeded yesterday, showing off a new name for an as-yet-unreleased Apple TV box called T1125, suggesting a release was imminent.

We know very little about the new box right now other than that it is being tested by Apple, and that it will come with a faster A12 Bionic chip to power new Apple Arcade games.

We also know that the device will support 4K with HDR content.

Last year, rumors began to circulate on a new Apple TV device with an A12 chip, but at the time it was under the codename J305.

In the past, Apple has updated its set-top box every two years, with the previous two models launching in September 2015 and September 2017 respectively.

With Apple not releasing a box in September 2019, we could expect to see an updated version of Apple TV in March to boost the company’s Arcade and TV+ ventures.

Apple has been widely rumored to launch a cheaper version of Apple TV, an Apple TV stick or dongle, so to speak, to help bring Apple TV+ to more TVs.

At present, manufacturers like Samsung and LG have added the Apple TV app to their devices, and Amazon added the Apple TV app to their Fire Sticks, but a dedicated streaming stick could work in Apple’s favor.
