Apple will reportedly release a ruggedized version of the Apple Watch later this year.
For years, wearers of the Apple Watch who take part in extreme sports have had to depend on third-party cases, but now it appears Apple is working on a new dedicated watch for this market, featuring the same hardware but improved casing for enhanced protection and performance.
The company is also reportedly working on improved swimming tracking.
According to Bloomberg, this is the second time that the company has gone through an evaluation process in regards to a new rugged Apple Watch, and that discussions suggest it could launch this year, though a 2022 release is not off the cards just yet.
