Apple’s brand new drama series will be based on the early life of NBA star Kevin Durant, as reported by Variety. This highly anticipated series is just one of a number of shows Apple is currently developing.
The series will follow the early stages of Durant’s career in basketball and it will be produced by Imagine Television and directed and written byReggie Rock Bythewood. Bythewood is known for Shots FiredĀ in which he again collaborated with Imagine Television, and for his work on “Notorious”.Ā The focus will be on Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball and will delve into the lives of the players, coaches and their families.
Durant currently plays for NBA team Golden State Warriors and has won a number of awards throughout his career, including Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year. He is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist.
According to reports, this marks Apple’s 10th television show it is developing. Other shows include “Amazing Stores”, a drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, a series written by “La La Land” creator Damien Chazelle, and an anthology series by Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon called “Little America”, among others.
