AppleCare One expansion is taking Apple multi-device coverage beyond the United States for the first time, opening the subscription to customers in the UK, France, Germany and Australia.
Enrollment begins August 4, approximately one year after Apple introduced the plan for U.S. customers. AppleCare One combines coverage for as many as three eligible products under one monthly subscription, with additional devices available through separate monthly add-ons.
Pricing starts at £16.99 per month in the UK, €20.99 in France and Germany, and A$29.99 in Australia. Additional devices cost £4.99, €5.99 or A$8.99 per month, respectively.
The U.S. plan remains priced at $19.99 per month for three devices, with each additional product costing $5.99.
The international rollout changes AppleCare One from a limited U.S. experiment into a wider services product aimed at people who own several devices. Instead of maintaining separate plans for an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac, customers can manage eligible products through one recurring subscription.
AppleCare One Expansion Covers Four Major Markets
AppleCare One includes the central benefits provided by AppleCare+, including unlimited repairs for accidental damage, battery replacement service, Apple-certified repairs and priority support from Apple experts.
The subscription price does not change according to the three products selected. A customer can therefore use the base plan for a relatively inexpensive combination such as AirPods, Apple TV and HomePod, or assign the same three places to an iPhone, iPad and MacBook.
The financial advantage becomes more noticeable when the selected devices would otherwise require higher-priced individual plans. Apple says a UK customer covering an iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch together can save up to £11.48 per month compared with maintaining separate AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss plans.
Apple gives potential savings of as much as €13.48 per month in France and Germany. In Australia, the same three-device combination can save up to A$18.48 per month.
Those examples depend on the devices and individual plans being compared. A customer covering three lower-cost accessories may not save as much, while someone protecting premium mobile hardware can receive greater value from the fixed monthly price.
AppleCare One remains a monthly subscription rather than a prepaid multiyear plan. Customers can continue the coverage until they cancel, while devices can be added, removed or exchanged as their hardware collection changes.
Older Devices Can Receive New Coverage
One of the more unusual AppleCare One features is the ability to cover products that are no longer inside the normal AppleCare+ purchase period.
Eligible devices can be as much as four years old, provided they remain in good condition. Headphones, including AirPods and Beats products, must be less than one year old.
Apple may require a diagnostic test or physical inspection before accepting an older product. The verification process can involve remote diagnostics, photographs captured with another iPhone or iPad, or an appointment at an Apple Store.
A device that fails the condition check may need an Apple-certified repair before it becomes eligible. Existing damage cannot simply be placed under the plan and repaired afterward as a newly covered accident.
The extended eligibility period can be particularly useful for people who skipped AppleCare+ when purchasing a device but later decided that continuing repair coverage would be valuable. It can also bring several differently aged products into one plan rather than restricting enrollment to recent purchases.
Every covered product must be associated with the subscriber’s Apple Account. That requirement limits how AppleCare One works within families.
Family Sharing does not automatically allow a parent to cover devices connected to separate accounts used by a spouse or child. Products must appear on the same Apple Account as the subscription owner, which may prevent some households from consolidating every device without changing their existing account arrangements.
Existing AppleCare+ Plans Can Move Across
Customers who already have AppleCare+ can switch eligible products into AppleCare One. Apple says the previous individual coverage is canceled when the device moves to the multi-device plan, with any applicable refund handled through the transition process.
The plan also responds to upgrades purchased directly from Apple. When a customer trades in a covered product and buys its replacement from Apple, the older device can be removed and the new one placed into the subscription.
That approach reduces the risk of continuing to pay for a device that has already been traded in. Customers can also manage their covered products manually through the AppleCare & Warranty area in Settings or through Apple coverage services online.
AppleCare One can extend beyond three products. The first additional device raises the monthly price rather than replacing one of the original three positions, allowing customers to cover larger collections.
The economics should still be checked as devices are added. Individual AppleCare+ coverage may remain less expensive for certain products, particularly accessories with relatively low monthly rates. AppleCare One delivers its best value when the first three places are assigned to devices carrying higher individual coverage costs.
Theft and Loss Reaches More Apple Products
The international launch also expands theft and loss options for iPad and Apple Watch.
AppleCare One includes theft and loss protection for covered iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch models. Previously, theft and loss coverage was most closely associated with iPhone plans in many markets.
Apple is also introducing AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss as a separate single-device option for iPad and Apple Watch in the four new AppleCare One countries. Those individual plans cover as many as two theft or loss incidents per year, subject to local excess fees and plan terms.
Accidental damage repairs remain unlimited, although each repair can require a service or excess fee depending on the device and type of damage. Apple uses genuine parts through Apple Stores and its network of authorized service providers.
Theft and loss protection does not apply to Mac, AirPods, HomePod, Apple TV, Apple Pencil or Apple displays. Those products can receive accidental-damage and hardware coverage under AppleCare One but are not included in its lost-or-stolen device benefits.
Customers in France and Australia also face a four-day waiting period connected to device shipment or pickup before starting a new AppleCare One subscription. Apple says existing subscribers can add newly purchased devices when fewer than three products are already enrolled.
The rollout leaves Canada, Japan and several other established AppleCare+ markets without AppleCare One for now. Apple has not announced the next group of countries, while the same-account requirement may remain the first obstacle for families attempting to place an entire household under one subscription.
