The upcoming F1 movie, still officially untitled but often referred to as “Apex F1”, has finally received a release date.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on Top Gun: Maverick, the film promises a thrilling depiction of the high-speed world of Formula 1 racing.

The movie will later stream exclusively on Apple TV+, with Warner Bros handling theatrical distribution, including IMAX screenings.

Kosinski’s approach to the film includes using innovative camera rigs to capture the authentic feel of the racing experience.

The actors, including Pitt and Idris, drive specially designed F2 cars modified to resemble F1 vehicles, enhancing the realism of the racing scenes. The film’s production, with a rumored budget exceeding $250 million, took place over the past year at various real F1 circuits during actual Grand Prix race weekends.

Production faced delays due to strikes in 2023, but filming is expected to wrap up during the 2024 F1 season.

The storyline features Brad Pitt as a former driver returning to the F1 circuit to assist his teammate, played by Damson Idris.

The cast also includes notable actors such as Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, and Sarah Niles, adding star power to the project.

This F1 movie is part of Apple Original Films’ robust slate for 2024, which also includes another Brad Pitt feature, Wolfs.

Scheduled for theatrical release on September 20, Wolfs is an action comedy where Pitt teams up with George Clooney as two fixers assigned to the same job.

Fans of high-octane racing and Brad Pitt can look forward to an exciting cinematic experience when the F1 movie premieres in 2025.
