Apple’s ‘Carpool Karaoke: The Series’ will have a second season

Apple has just renewed their hit show  ‘Carpool Karaoke: The Series’ for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Apple’s second original TV show, after “Planet of the Apps”, debuted last August.

The show is based on the Carpool Karaoke segment in “The Late Late Show With James Corden”, in which Corden drives celebrities to work and they sing along to popular songs. Similarly, in Apple’s show, they pair up celebrities to sing karaoke style together, and in the last two episodes of the first season, Carden featured. Their show is also a way to promote their streaming service Apple Music as they are offering exclusive entertainment to subscribers. Subscribers can view past episodes and catch the new season for a subscription fee of $9.99 a month.

Each 20+ minute long episode features a different pair of celebrities including John Legend, Alicia Keys, Game of Thrones stars Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, Billy Eichner, Metallica, Seth MacFarland, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Queen Latifah, and Jada Pinkett Smith, among others. Carpool Karaoke is still a popular segment on “The Late Late Show” and clips can be found on YouTube.
