Apple’s Tim Cook Leads New ExecRank List of Top 250 CEOs

Apple CEO Tim Cook has just been handed another strong vote of confidence in his leadership, in the form of premier position in ExecRank’s new list of the top 250 CEOs.

Though this list from ExecRank, a company with the purpose of matching businesses to good board members and executive advisors, does not limit its focus to tech bosses, businesses in that sector nonetheless make up a significant proportion of the list.

Just behind Cook is Larry Page, who recently took up the top job at Google’s new parent firm Alphabet, in second position and, at number three, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella. Facebook head Mark Zuckerberg is eighth, while IBM’s Ginni Rometty – the highest-ranked woman – is at nineteen.

In a slightly cryptic description of its methodology, ExecRank claims to have compiled its list through “statistical and algorithmic analysis of executive performance across 24 key areas” – including experience in the role, corporate results under their leadership, appointments of board members and growth in the company’s per-share earnings this year.
