As of this week, Office 365 will be available on the Mac AppStore. It made its debut on January 24th and it’s now easier than ever for Mac users to download Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook and of course Word. A subscription service is also available meaning users are able to climb on board instantly.
Office 365 for Mac has been designed to support features that are wholly unique to Mac, such as the Continuity Camera in Mac OS and Dark Mode. The MacBook Pro Touch Bar and Mac’s Trackpad will also receive specialist support with unique features.
Phill Schiller, Apple’s senior vice present of World Marketing said: “We are excited to welcome Microsoft Office 365 to the all new Mac App Store in macOS Mojave.
“Apple and Microsoft have worked together to bring great Office productivity to Mac users from the very beginning. Now, with Office 365 on the Mac App Store, it’s easier than ever to get the latest and best version of Office 365 for Mac, iPad and iPhone.”
Jared Spataro, Microsoft’s corporate vice present echoed Schiller’s sentiment: “We are excited to announce that today Office 365 is arriving in the Mac App Store.
“We have worked closely with Apple to provide Mac users with the very best productivity experience — one that offers everything they know and love about Office through an experience uniquely designed for the Mac.”
Whether it’s a business or work environment, employees wish to access the best apps on the devices in order to do their work and the fact that Office 365 is on the Mac Store means such apps can be quickly distributed to employees using Apple Business Manager. This is an initiative unique to Apple and one whereby a central dashboard allows IT to deploy devices, apps and licenses. Said IT can sanction employees to get to work with the necessary Office tools across Mac and iOS devices with impressive new features designed specifically for Apple.
