New “supplier” renders revealed by Gizmochina show off the design for the AirPods 3.
Apple is widely rumored to launch the third-generation AirPods at an upcoming event this March, following on from the success of the two previous models as well as the Pro device.
Accordion to Gizmochina, the renders were shared by a supplier, and show off a new design with a shorter stem that’s similar to the AirPods Pro, but with a smaller charging case.
These renders match up with reports that Apple was to redesign the AirPods for their third iteration, bringing them in line with the AirPods Pro for consistency and to cut production costs.
It’s likely that the AirPods 3 will look very similar to the AirPods Pro, without professional features such as Active Noise Cancellation, whilst still sporting the same form-factor.
As with any renders, it’s important to remember that nothing is set in stone, and Apple could change its design ahead of launch. However, the renders have since been shared by a number of reputable insider sources, corroborating the claims, so they seem legitimate.
Insiders are also reporting that Apple will hold a special virtual event on March 23, where it will show off its long-awaited AirTags, as well as new iPads and perhaps AirPods 3.
