Auctioneers to Sell Limited Edition Steve Jobs Apple MacBook

It’s been over a year now since iconic Apple owner Steve Jobs passed away. And while it was definitely too soon for the innovator to go, he is still managing to keep base with fans. Whether it’s an undiscovered anecdote, or an array of innovative ideals and products, Steve Jobs’ memory lives on. And today, the late CEO is helping a recognized charity, even if it is a little inadvertently on his part.

Shortly after his passing, an artist by the name Jonathan Makin, created a beautiful homage to the Apple mastermind. The image, which portrays a silhouette of Steve Jobs’ face in place of the iconic “bitten piece” on the Apple Logo, began to circulate around the Internet in a respectful firestorm.

It popped up as wallpapers, personal avatars, and was also included in a variety of other things. This image may be one of the best renditions ever to capture the essence and passion that the late innovator had for his company and the fans. And now this beautifully made work of art will find itself applied to one more medium, and a very important one at that.

Jonathan Makin has teamed up with a charity named Get It Done, and the company SellAnApp, to craft a specialized limited edition MacBook Pro that features the artwork in place of the traditional logo. These special laptops (of which there are only three) are currently up for auction at a current bid which is over USD $14,000. Each laptop in the lot had a reserve starting price of approximately USD $12245.00.

You can still bid on one of these historical devices, but be prepared to shell out some big bucks if you want to win. All proceeds from this auction will be equally shared between Get It Done and SellAnApp.
