Australian Bank ANZ Promotes Apple Pay with Amusing New Ad

Australian bank ANZ is already extensively promoting the Apple Pay support it started offering last week, having debuted an advert in which the mobile payment service’s speed is put under the spotlight.

The advert opens with the inconspicuous scene of a man picking up a carton of milk at a shop and heading to checkout to pay for it. However, he then tells the cashier that he wants to pay with his iPhone – and, as he holds it up… well, we think it’d be best for you to just see it for yourself.

The ad closes with the line “A big deal for a fraction of a second”, which does amusingly sum up the essential appeal of Apple Pay. With the service still rather limited in availability in Australia, ANZ has also been busy using social media to promote its support for Apple Pay, the hashtag #ANZApplePay having reportedly trended on Twitter for over 24 hours in the country.
