Bad Monkey Season 2 Planning Underway While Release Date Remains Unset Season 2 of Apple TV+’s Bad Monkey has been confirmed, with filming slated for 2025 and key updates to location and cast, though an official release date is not yet announced.

A man in sunglasses and a green tropical shirt holds an orange popsicle on a sandy beach at sunset, with palm trees, a small dog on his shoulder, and the ocean in the background—perfect vibes for fans awaiting Bad Monkey Season 2.

Apple TV has renewed Bad Monkey for a second season, with key details emerging about its production and creative direction though the official release date remains unannounced. The update follows the series’ initial success filming is expected to begin later in 2025.

While the story remains set in Florida, season two will shift much of its internal filming to California, with exteriors still being shot in the Sunshine State. Vince Vaughn confirmed this during recent remarks about the series.  The production move appears to align with cost incentives and operational logistics, as the California filming infrastructure allows key personnel to work closer to home and facilitates access to larger production resources.

Creative Direction and Season Structure

Season two is not expected to follow the exact plot of the original novel by Carl Hiaasen. The first season was based on the book Bad Monkey, and while a sequel novel exists (Razor Girl), series creators have indicated that season two will take a fresh narrative route.

Vince Vaughn noted that the outline for the first four episodes has already been developed, giving shape to the next chapter of Andrew Yancy’s story.

Release Timing and What to Expect

Although filming is expected to begin in 2025, no specific premiere date has been announced by Apple TV. Outlets tracking the series indicate a likely release window in late 2026, depending on production and post-production timelines.  Fans should anticipate a wait before the next season arrives, as location changes and fresh story development may extend the production schedule compared to season one.
